FIELD: mechanical engineering; ignition system of internal combustion engine with inductive energy accumulator for checking operation of engine by change in conductance of spark gap in combustion chamber. SUBSTANCE: ignition energy is accumulated in ignition coil magnetic field and spark discharge is formed at which test voltage is applied to spark gap electrodes and current flowing under test voltage through spark gap is measured. Prior to measuring the current forced dissipation of energy remaining in ignition coil magnetic field is carried out. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement of spark gap conductance in ignition system of internal combustion engine. 1 dwg
