FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: using in electrical engineering. According to invention, charging station is built-in into transformer substation with power transformer and connected to industrial logic controller unit, which performs following stages: a) in real time mode reads data on absolute values of phase currents in circuit at power transformer output; b) based on which calculates total power in circuit at power transformer output; c) compares calculated total power with preset maximum value of power, d) if during electric vehicle charging power at power transformer output exceeds preset maximum power value, then calculates power reduction value, consumed by electric vehicle, required to fulfill condition of not exceeding preset maximum power value; e) if during electric vehicle charging power at power transformer output does not exceed preset maximum power value, then repeats stages a)-c); f) calculates required reduction of charging current value taking into account predetermined number of connection phases for electric vehicle charging; g) transmits to charging station control signal on reduction of charging current value.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in charging station reliability and safety.
