FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a charging station and a method for operation thereof for charging several electric vehicles. The charging station is connected to a power supply network at a network connection point. The charging station receives electrical power from the power supply network and charges one or several electric vehicles using the electrical power received from the power supply network. The charging station is controlled so that the power supply netwotk is electrically supported. The charging station is configured to handle network failures in the power supply network. In the event of a network failure, the charging station remains connected with the power supply network and extracts or supplies electrical power from the power supply network or into said network depending on the state of the network and/or depending on the task from the network operator. The charging station is controlled so as to receive the same amount of power from the power supply network after a network failure as was received immediately prior to the network failure.
EFFECT: creation of an electric vehicle charging system changing the power output depending on the dynamic state of the power supply network.
