SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile terminals. Method and equipment for switching a mobile terminal into the standby mode in one version of the present invention include: determining that the mobile terminal speed exceeds the specified speed, determining, whether the mobile terminal is within the driver zone; and switching the mobile terminal into the standby mode, if it is within the driver zone. If the mobile terminal speed exceeds the specified speed, the conclusion is made, that the mobile terminal is moving fast, then it is determined whether the mobile terminal is within the driver zone, and if the terminal is within the driver zone, this means that the user uses the mobile terminal during driving, as the result of which the mobile terminal is switched into the standby mode in order to limit the use of the mobile terminal during driving and to reduce the number of cases of using the mobile terminal by the user during driving.
EFFECT: technical result is limiting the use of a mobile terminal by a driver during driving.
