SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a system for inputting symbols. Method comprises following steps: receiving symbol input information and determining input symbol and time information related to input operations in accordance with symbol input information; as well as selection of state of symbol in accordance with information on time and time threshold for switching state. If information on time corresponds to a long interval, current state of symbol can be switched to other state; if same time information corresponds to a short-time interval, current state of symbol can remain unchanged; and if time information reaches a certain duration, current state of symbol can be switched to other states and switched state is recorded, that is, subsequently input symbols will be in said switched state.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of inputting symbols due to simplified operations when selecting state of symbols.
