METHOD OF DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF HEADACHE TYPE IN CASE OF MYELOPROLIFERATIVE DISEASES Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/00 A61B5/145

Abstract RU 2609287 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, in particular to neurology, hematology, and can be applied for differential diagnostics of headache type in case of myeloproliferative diseases (MPD). Testing of diagnostics indices, presence or absence of which is evaluated in points, is performed. Assessed are: intensity of headache (HA) by subjective visual-analogue scale of headache (VAS), frequency of headache during the week, character of headache: pulsing, pricking, cutting, thundering or compressing, crushing, level of platelets by data of the latest blood test, application of cytoreductive therapy, whether there has been reduction of headache after cytoreductive therapy application started, whether onset of headache coincides with development of MPD, whether HA improves with improvement of causative MPD progress, whether somatic mutation in gene of tyrosine-kinase-2 (JAK2) is present, whether change of taste, colour, location of headache by its presence in a half of head, around eyes, around the entire head in form of hoop or in frontal, parietal and occipital areas, frequency of anesthetic medication application more than 4 times per week is assessed. It is also determined, whether there are or were headaches of migraine character in female relatives. Then sum of points of all research diagnostic indices is calculated and depending on obtained value primary headache or secondary headache is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method ensures objective and reliable differentiation of promary and secondary headache in patients with MPD due to creation of universal scale with statically significant for primary and secondary headaches tests.
