FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering, in particular, for transmitting/receiving microwave radio signals. Installation (1) for transmission/reception of microwave radio signals comprises transmitting/receiving unit (2), means (4) for receiving electrical signals from conversion of radio signals received terrestrial or satellite channel, referred to as forward-channel signals, demodulator (21) for demodulating electric signals according to a first modulation/demodulation protocol, modulator (5) for modulating electric signals according to a second modulation/demodulation protocol that is different than first protocol, said second protocol being a spectral broadening protocol, said modulator (5) modulating signals demodulated by said demodulator (21), and means (23) for transferring said electric signals modulated according to a spectral broadening protocol into radio signals capable of being transmitted via a satellite channel. Said equipment also comprises one or more housings (11) including a modulator (14) for modulating electric signals according to said first modulation/demodulation protocol, and coaxial cable (10) connecting transmission/reception unit to housings.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of transmitting/receiving microwave signals transmitted by satellite with an interactive return channel using a spread spectrum protocol.
