SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering, in particular to broadband satellite transmission, and is intended to minimise unused transmit/receive capacity in a satellite communication channel. Satellite signals comprise corresponding data streams (3) consisting of a sequence of data packets, which are divided by dividing means (4) into first (3c) and at least one second (3d) pseudo-streams (3c, 3d), first (3c) and at least one second data pseudo-stream are modulated using first (5) and at least one second (6) modulators, respectively, modulated data pseudo-streams are transmitted through respective transmission channels (Ch#1 ... Ch#N), in which, in order to generate said pseudo-streams (3c, 3d), dividing means (4) select each data packet (31, 32, 33) from said data stream 3, modulators (5, 6) are sequentially interrogated to identify modulator (5), which among said modulators (5, 6), is available for receiving said data packets (31, 32, 33), and said data packets are sent to said modulator, null data packet (35) is sent to other modulators (6).

EFFECT: method and system for transmitting satellite signals and a receiver to this end are disclosed.
