FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used in the surgical treatment of bone diseases. An implant for bone defects replacement, which is made of a porous carbon-carbon composite material comprising a pyrocarbon matrix and a multidirectional reinforcing frame of carbon fibers and consists of at least two parts, which form the required external shape of the implant and a closed cavity inside the implant designed to contain the drug substance after their combining.
EFFECT: porous carbon implant for bone defects replacement enhances the effectiveness of treatment of inflammatory diseases and cancer by application for prolonged delivery of drugs into the operated area.
