SUBSTANCE: invention is relevant to transmissions or disengaged couplings. Method for displacement of axes of universal self-centering system is intended for in cases when dynamic properties of universal self-centering system are used. Combined rotation of internal and external bases is possible even if axes of bases' rotation are misaligned. It means that both internal and external bases can rotate referenced to their misaligned axes of rotation under influence of torque that takes effect on one of bases. It allows forming, in particular, transmissions with smoothly varying rate of output shaft beginning from zero. Method for displacement of bases' axes of universal self-centering system is making displacement of internal-base axis along arc that passes through center of universal self-centering system. This center is formed by mutually aligned axes of external and internal bases.

EFFECT: transmission is provided with smoothly varying gear ratio and without switching and varying components.
