FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coding principle, which enables parallel processing. Disclosed is a decoder configured to receive raw byte sequence payload describing a picture with WPP sub-streams with one WPP substream per LCU line of picture and encoded using CABAC, from encoder in tranches into which are segmented WPP sub-streams, by means of which boundaries of tranches are input therein; entropy decoding of tranches with continuation of adaptation of probabilities of CABAC through boundaries of tranches, introduced into WPP sub-streams; and decoding raw byte sequence payload to obtain a picture.
EFFECT: technical results is improved efficiency of coding with small delay in parallel processing media.
