FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coding enabling parallel processing in the evolving HEVC (high-efficiency video coding) standard, a transport demultiplexer and a video bitstream. Payload of a sequence of raw bytes describing an image in slices, sub-streams of WPP or tiles and encoded using context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding, subdivided or divided into tranches with continuation of adaptation of probabilities of context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding along boundaries of tranches. By means of this measure, boundaries of tranches, additionally introduced into slices, sub-streams of WPP or tiles, do not lead to reduction of efficiency of entropy coding of these elements. On the other hand, however, tranches are smaller than the original slices, WPP sub-streams or tiles, and therefore they can be transmitted earlier, i.e. with less delay than non-shared source objects, i.e. slices, WPP sub-streams or tiles. According to another aspect, which is combined with the first aspect, sub-stream marker NAL units are used in a sequence of video bitstream NAL units, in order to make it possible for the transport demultiplexer to assign slice data in NAL units to the corresponding sub-streams or tiles in order to be able to simultaneously supply the corresponding sub-streams or tiles to the multi-stream decoder.

EFFECT: efficient low-latency coding in parallel processing environments.
