FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be applied to electrical engineering. According to method in parallel to transverse capacitive compensation units (CU) thyristor-reactor groups are connected, together with CU forming static thyristor compensators (STC) by measuring voltage transformers with secondary windings, measuring voltage on STC, wherein at output all STC maintain same voltage Ucm, and traction network includes catenary system parallel connection (CSPC) tele-automatic points, located between substations and selection post with voltage measuring transformers with secondary windings, measuring voltage at CSPC, and information control unit (ICU). According to measured voltages ICU unit issue to all STCs command to increase (decrease) voltage.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in accuracy of transverse capacitive compensation unit (CU) power control, and, hence, increase in traction network power supply reliability and efficiency.
