FIELD: personal items.
SUBSTANCE: armchair is comprised of a backrest made of individual segments in the form of rectangular parallelepipeds each of which is rigidly fixed onto the rod, which freely subsides into the inside cavity of the backrest and retracts therefrom. The rod is fixed by a ratchet, and the backrest transforms its shape according to the anthropometric data of users so that a person seats him- or herself into a recess formed in indented segments. The segments remaining in their original position or less immersed in the back of the chair form a sort of an elastic corset, creating horizontal and vertical support.
EFFECT: rapid change in the form of the backrest relieves the stress on the lumbar, thorocal and cervical sections of the spine for those who remain in the sitting position for a long time; the chair can be used by a variety of people with different anthropometric measurements.
