SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of digital communication networks. Technical result is achieved by providing a client device of automatic updating of IP address corresponding to a domain name. If domain name is included in a second set, which is a subset of a first set, then server from obtains a domain name resolution service first IP address. If domain name is included in a third set, which is a subset of second set, first IP address is sent to client device. If domain name is included in second set and if second IP address, corresponding to domain name and different from first IP address, server can receive from second domain name resolution service, then server obtains second IP address from second domain name resolution service. If domain name is included in third set, second IP address is sent to client device without server receiving from client device a request for IP address, corresponding domain name, after server sends first IP address to client device.
EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of converting a domain name into an IP address.
