METHOD FOR DETERMINING DYNAMIC RANGE OF HEARING IN PATIENTS WITH HEARING AID Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/00 A61B5/484 A61B5/12

Abstract RU 2610829 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology. Dynamic range of hearing is determined by registration of brainstem auditory potentials in successive way. Chirp signal is used as stimulus successively at frequencies 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz. Data about sound perception in hearing aid are receives at stimulus intensity 60 dB. Presence of response of auditory analyser is visualised in case of presence if V peak of brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BUEP). Adjustment is considered to be optimal for current frequency. After that, gradual reduction of stimulus intensity for each frequency: 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hz to value 20 dB is realised with the following BUEP registration. Presence of V peak at intensity 20 dB testifies to overamplification of incoming amplitude-frequency characteristics of hearing aid for the frequency, and reduction of signal amplification is required.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to realise more accurate selection and frequency-by-frequency adjustment of hearing aid for a particular patient, improve quality of further audioverval rehabilitation due to application of Chirp signal as stimulus successively at different frequencies, as well as assessment of V peak at intensity 20 dB.
