FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surdology-otorhinolaryngology, and can be used for diagnosing the hearing state in infants and non-contact patients. Method for modifying an acoustic stimulus for recording short-latency auditory induced potentials consists in measuring real ear RECD using a pure tone stimulus. Difference of the ear response and the coupler response at 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 4 kHz and 8 kHz for the right and left ears is calculated. SAEPs in the state of physiological or drug-induced sleep are recorded. Emitters used are in-ear telephones with the same inserts which are used to record the RECD. Broadband Chirp is used as a stimulus. That is preceded by modifying the stimulus amplitude-frequency characteristic taking into account the pre-measured RECD at frequencies 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 4 kHz and 8 kHz for the right and left ears. That is ensured by subtracting the RECD values at the respective frequency from the Chirp stimulus amplitude.

EFFECT: more accurate diagnosis of the hearing state in infants and non-contact patients.
