FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to the surdology-otorhinolaryngology. Proposed is a method for determining optimum settings of a hearing aid, in which an auditory evoked potential of the auditory cerebral cortex is recorded on a sound stimulus supplied through a patient's hearing system in a free sound field. Sound stimulus used is a constant modulated tone with a modulation frequency of 40 Hz and a separate presentation at 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, 2,000 Hz and 4,000 Hz, sound stimuli are presented at intensity of 55 dB relative to the normal audibility threshold (nAT). Auditory evoked potential of the cerebral cortex considered as stimulated by each modulated tone at each of the frequencies, at a sound pressure level of 55 dB nAT, is considered to be the optimal parameter.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of evaluating auditory cortical perception of sounds and possibility of performing the method in a state of calm wake that eliminates the risks associated with anesthesia, as well as simplifies its use.
