FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: parameters of cranio-facial complex, which include width of nose between protruding points on nose wings, equal segment AnAn, and distance between cheekbone points Zy-Zy, equal segment ZyZy, are measured in millimetres. After that the sum of mesio-distal dimensions of three teeth of frontal group canine, lateral and medial cutter, is also measured in millimetres. After that the sum from mesio-distal dimensions of seven teeth, including dimensions of three teeth of frontal group and four teeth of lateral group - first and second premolars, as well as first and second permanent molars is measured. After that, main parameters of dental arch are calculated: arch depth - Dd1-7 and Dd1-3, width - Wd7-7 and Wd3-3, frontal-distal diagonal - FDDd1-7 and FDDd1-3 are calculated by mathematical formulae. Segment AE, equal to depth of dental arch Dd1-7 is built. Segment AT is marked off on prolongation of line AE. Two straight lines - line E and line T are drawn through obtained points E and T perpendicularly to line AE. Twi segments, equal to half of the width of segment AT, are marked off on line E on both sides of point E, and segment KL, equal to dental arch width - Wd7-7 between second molars, is obtained. Segments AK and AL, equal to frontal-distal diagonal FDDdi_7, passing from frontal vestibular point to the level of location of second constant molars, are marked off from point A in both sides of arch. Circumference with radius AO is built on line AE through upper point A. Segments AC and AD, equal to frontal-distal diagonal of anterior part of FDDd1-3, are marked off from point A in both sides of arch. Points C and D are connected and segment CD, determining position of canines and corresponding to width between canines Wd3-3, is obtained. Point C is connected with point K, and point D is connected with point L with straight line. Lines from the middle of lines CK and DL and perpendicular to them to crossing with line T, and points M and N are obtained. Arches CK and DL, on which points of vestibular surface of occlusal contour of chewing surface of premolars and molars of mandible will be located, are drawn from point N with radius NC and from M with radius MD, obtained in such a way arch KCADL is an individual dental arch for mandible.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase accuracy of building shape of dental arch of patient's mandible in period of bite of permanent teeth due to measurement of arch parameters - depth, width, frontal-distal diagonal.
