METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING SHAPE OF DENTAL ARC OF MAXILLA IN INFANTS HAVING PRIMARY BITE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; stomatology; diagnostics of anomalies in shape of maxillary dental arc in infants during period of primary bite. SUBSTANCE: first rectangle ABCD (Fig.1) is constructed, which consists of two contiguous squares having side equal to length of side segment measured from distal surface of primary canine tooth up to distal surface of second primary molar tooth. Position of retromolar points R (CR=CD) is noted on auxiliary arc CT, radius of which is equal to diagonal of rectangle. Making departure from points R, point F (PF=BC) is located. Diameter of arc for frontal teeth (EFE') corresponds to width of dental arc between retromolar points R and R'. Proceeding from point F, point L is located on auxiliary arc CT. Point L is located at point corresponding to diagonal of rectangle (FL=AC). Next, proceeding from point L, arc for primary molar teeth is drawn with radius LE. EFFECT: dental arc thus- constructed is individual for each infant; it has normal shape and size and it depends on length of side segment of infant's maxilla. 1 dwg
