FIELD: oil-and-gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to downhole production of asphaltene oils using deep-well pumps with electric drives, equipped with electric current frequency regulators. The method for determining the volume of deposits in the production tubing string consists in filling of the tubing string with the fluid the property of which differs from that of the formation fluid, measurement of this fluid volume and subtracting this value from the internal volume of the clean tubing string. In this method, the water content of fluid in the tubing is changed by changing the capacity of the deep-well pump by changing the frequency of the electric current powering the pump actuator. The volume of the fluid with altered water content in the tubing string is determined as the product of modified pump capacity at the time of tubing filling with the fluid with modified water content. Using the mathematical expression, the volume of deposits is determined based on the length of the tubing string from the deep well pump to the wellhead, the internal diameter of clean tubing, performance of electric-pump after change of the electric current frequency, time, changes in frequency of electric current and time of change of watering of well production at the wellhead.

EFFECT: invention provides extension of the period of trouble-free and efficient operation of wells.
