SUBSTANCE: invention refers to building materials and may be used in the production of ceramic articles, e.g., bricks. Ceramic mass containing Cambrian clay and filling aggregate is characterized by the fact that as filling aggregate it contains slag of aluminothermic welding of rails with fineness modulus of M_f=2.8, containing more than 90% of hercynite represented by iron spinel and aluminum oxide with the following ingredient ratios, wt.%: Cambrian clay 75-85, above slag 15-25.

EFFECT: increased bending strength of ceramic bricks.
