FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for fat embolism syndrome (FES) diagnosis in case of lower limbs fractures. On the first day of the post-traumatic period, patient's venous blood is collected subsequently centrifuged. The concentration of surfactant protein D in the obtained serum is determined using the immunoenzyme technique. FES is diagnosed if the protein standard of 200 ng/ml is exceeded.

EFFECT: early detection of fat embolism syndrome.
