FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely resuscitation and traumatology and can be used in intensive therapy of critical conditions. A method for laboratory diagnosis of fat embolism syndrome (FES) involves sampling blood from a vein and an artery in the patients with an injury. In the patient's arterial and venous blood samples obtained, the concentration of protein S100B is determined, the obtained protein concentration values S100B are compared to the reference interval of <0.105 mcg/l, if S100B protein concentration in arterial and venous blood exceeds a reference interval with prevalence of S100B protein concentration in arterial blood relative to venous blood, fat embolism syndrome is diagnosed.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows enlarging the possibilities and improving the accuracy of the laboratory diagnostics of the FES in the patients with the trauma.
