SUBSTANCE: thermionic converter relates to power engineering. Thermionic converter comprises cathode unit, including cathode (6) and housing with heating devices (10), and anode unit, including perforated anode (1), housing with cooling devices (5) and cesium vapor passage channels (4) to perforated anode, arranged on sealed chamber housing, filled with cesium vapor. Cathode (6) and anode (1) working surfaces are located inside sealed chamber and separated by interelectrode gap. Anode (1) is made in form of plate, on each surface of which parallel longitudinal slots are made. General directions of slots on plate sides are not parallel, and sum of their depths exceeds plate thickness.

EFFECT: technical result is increase of efficiency of heat energy converting into electrical one.
