FIELD: nuclear power engineering; direct heat-to-electricity energy conversion in thermionic converter reactors. SUBSTANCE: electricity-generating channel of thermionic converter reactor incorporating high-melting tubular cathode and anode arranged coaxially, fuel core inside cathode, spacers, and current leads has its cathode made of single-crystalline molybdenum tube coated with tungsten throughout working length of interelectrode clearance and carries on one side solid conducting rod fixed to current-collecting bush connected on one end with anode via stuffing arrangement and bellows and on other end, with end cover of reactor via stuffing arrangement and bellows; on its other side, cathode is joined directly with current-collecting bush which is connected on one end to anode through stuffing arrangement and bellows and on other end, with opposite cover of reactor also through stuffing arrangement and bellows; fuel core accommodates inside it gas-discharge device and its ends carry and deflectors.
