METHOD FOR ULTRASONIC INSPECTION OF ARTICLES MADE OF POLYMER COMPOSITE MATERIALS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N29/04

Abstract RU 2611709 C1

FIELD: electronics.

SUBSTANCE: use: to assess quality of structures of a closed loop with an internal cavity made of polymer composite materials, for example, coal-plastic or fiber-glass coal-plastic. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that excitation and reception of ultrasonic vibrations pulses are performed by roller transducers, arranged on one side of controlled article, wherein the tilt angles of roller blocks and the rollers axes positions are equal. In the method at first the amplitude value of the bottom signal of the So adjusting sample in a specific point and the average amplitude value of the bottom signal of the Sos adjusting sample in adjacent points are determined. By constructed influence curve of the amplitude values of the So bottom signal on the distance passed by transducers, minimum value of the bottom signal amplitude being SA rejected criterion is determined. By constructed influence curve of the difference between values of So and Sos from the distance passed by transducers, minimum value of difference between values of So and Sos, being SR rejected criterion is determined. Further, the amplitude value of the bottom signal of the Si article in a specific point and the average amplitude value of the bottom signal of the Sis article in adjacent points are determined, obtained values are analyzed by comparing them with SA and SR rejection criteria, and if Si<SA and/or Si-Sis<SR, stating the defect.

EFFECT: technical result is provision of high sensitivity and reliability of defects detection in articles made of polymer composite materials.
