FIELD: ultrasonic testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for ultrasonic testing of products of variable thickness from polymer composite materials. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that the controlled product is rotated simultaneously with the longitudinal movement of the ultrasonic piezoelectric transducers using a mechanized system, internal defects in the material of the product are detected by the amplitude of the ultrasonic waves that have passed through the wall of the product, not exceeding the set amplitude level, before ultrasonic testing the amplitude level is set according to the control sample with defect simulators, and the control itself is performed by two rolling ultrasonic transducers with a frequency of 0.4 to 2.5 MHz with elastic protectors located on both sides of the wall of the tested product along the normal to its surface, and also taking into account its shape, while a decrease in the amplitude of ultrasonic waves below the level established by the control sample with imitators of defects indicates the presence of a defect in the material of the controlled product, the boundaries of which are then determined manually by reducing the amplitude of ultrasonic waves by 2 times relative to its maximum value in the area of the controlled products without defects using two direct transducers with a frequency of 0.4 to 5 MHz with elastic protectors coaxially located on both sides of the wall of the tested product.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of detection of defects such as breaking inside the material of articles of variable thickness made of polymer composite materials.
