SUBSTANCE: wheelchair is designed from provision of mobility of movement for handicapped people and people suffering from locomotor system injuries, severe injuries of lower limbs, with ablations of lower limbs, etc. either over horizontal and inclined surfaces or up and down stairs. The unit consists of a seat, a backrest, armrests, with a pair of gear wheels, which are shape-changing (from the "wheel" shape into the "star" shape), allow moving up and down stairs with various width, height, and surface of steps and one front wheel, which is the guide wheel driven by a handicapped person by means of an operating mechanism (either lever-based or automated).

EFFECT: simple, convenient in use device with higher safety during moving up and down stairs.
