FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in chemical industry in the production of caprolactam. The invention refers to the method for preparation of copper-containing catalyst for dehydrogenation of cyclohexanol to cyclohexanone including application of active component precursor from suspension consisting of aqueous solution of copper ammonia-carbonate complex with powder of solid oxide carrier, i.e. mixture of carbon white and boehmite, distributed in it, thermal treatment and granulation of catalyst charge. Active component precursor is applied in transitional hydrodynamic mode corresponding to values of Reynolds centrifugal criterion of 2500-10000. Weight ratio of copper oxide to basic copper hydroxide in active component precursor is 0.37-2.70 with predominating pore diameter being 16-24 nm.
EFFECT: improvement of the method for preparation of copper-containing catalyst for dehydrogenation of cyclohexanol to cyclohexanone resulting in obtaining catalyst with increased resistance to coke deposition with preserved high selectivity, activity and thermal stability levels.
