FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing in a solution ethylene-propylene (ethylene-propylene-diene) elastomers EP(D)M and polymerisation reactor for said method. Method includes formation of reaction mass in a constantly stirred reactor CSTR, where EP(D)M elastomer is dissolved in a hydrocarbon solvent. Reaction mass is maintained in boiling state at temperature 40–60 °C and pressure 0.6–1.3 MPa. Reaction heat in an amount of 40–80 % is removed by partial evaporation of reaction mass. Remaining reaction heat is removed by super cooling fluid media, returned into reactor. Reactor is equipped with a stirring system with three impellers, device for distribution of recycled fluid media in lower part of reactor and device for monitoring level of gamma-radiation.
EFFECT: technical result is higher quality of produced copolymers/terpolymers, improved stability of reaction owing to constant reaction parameters in time and in space.
