SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and can be used during well electromagnetic survey. Downhole telemetry system and method, in which electrically insulating material is located above and/or below device starting electric current or receiver along well pipe column are disclosed to expand range of telemetric system, increase speed of telemetry and/or reduce of well electric power requirements.
EFFECT: technical result is prevention of chains of short circuit through drilling fluid and in casing or directly in casing.
