SUBSTANCE: invention describes introduction of additives into a filtering element comprising nonwoven sheet material or paper as a filter material, for improving the selective removal of semi-volatile compounds and for improving the taste characteristics of smoke drawn through the filter element. Improving the selective removal of semi-volatile compounds from the smoke drawn through the filter element is provided by polyethylene glycol.
EFFECT: improving the taste characteristics of the smoke drawn through the filter element.
