FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for locating the acoustic emission sources in the rock mass is proposed, according to which the reversible receiving sensors with the same characteristics are used. Alternately the acoustic signal is emitted by each antenna sensor, and the acoustic signal is received by all the other antenna sensors. The velocity matrix is determined, and then in order to determine the location of the acoustic emission source in the system of the design equations, the derived velocity values of the velocity matrix are used.
EFFECT: higher reliability and accuracy of the location results.
