FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: esophagus is formed by the isoperistaltic stem from the greater stomach curvature retaining the right gastro-omental artery. Ligation and intersection of three branches of the right gastric gastro-omental artery are performed. First, the gastric branch of the right gastro-omental artery is transected at a distance of 5-6 cm from the pylorus. Subsequent artery branches are ligated and transected preserving at least two branches between them.
EFFECT: improved blood supply of the proximal transplant in case of total replacement of diseased esophagus.
