SUBSTANCE: method for determining hysteresis losses in the test sample by the mechanical oscillator, consists in that, the initial amplitude of oscillations is set after adjustment of the equilibrium position, the amplitudes of the damped oscillations of the oscillator are recorded, wherein the oscillator in the form of a torsion system is selected, in which a spherical body is suspended on the thread with the diameter of 100 to 600 microns and the length of about 1 m, in which the thread retains approximately triple safety tensile strength, to reduce the equilibrium position drift velocity, to keep the hanging thread under load before measuring, the initial oscillation amplitude is set, after damping the pendulum oscillation by the amplitudes of the torsion oscillations, the oscillation period T and the system quality factor are measured Q1=πn/ln(ϕ0/ϕn), where ϕ0 - the initial amplitude of oscillations, at which the intersection ratio ϕ0 of the thread diameter to its length does not exceed 5⋅10-6, ϕn is the amplitude after n complete oscillations, the quality factor Q0=kT/(4πqμd3), k=4π2J/T2 is defined by the viscous friction of the thread body with the diameter d of the air - the torsional thread stiffness, J - the inertia moment around the rotation axis, μ - the coefficient of the dynamic air viscosity, q=1+ln(100/T), the system quality Q2=Q1Q0/(Q0-Q1) is determined, due to the hysteresis losses in the suspension thread, and the coefficient of the hysteresis losses C=π/Q2.
EFFECT: simplified measurement of hysteresis losses.
