METHOD FOR MEASURING GRAVITATION CONSTANT Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01V7/10

Abstract RU 2633000 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: attracting bodies are set at specified positions. The initial oscillation amplitude of torsion balance is set. Periods, oscillation amplitude of the balance, as well as mass, size, position of all interacting bodies are measured at all positions. The moments of attraction of the balance working body by the attracting bodies and the moment of its inertia about the vertical axis are calculated. The gravitation constant is determined by the system of two differential equations of motion. The optimal oscillation amplitude is selected and retained for a long time. For this purpose, the delay time of movement of the attracting bodies to the next position is selected by means of an electric drive and the moving and fixing assemblies. During the experiment, in the intervals between measurements, the periods and oscillation amplitudes are calculated, according to which the gravitation constant is determined. After that, if necessary, the delay time which will ensure more accurate preservation of the oscillation amplitude is corrected.

EFFECT: reducing the measurement error of the gravitation constant due to the weakening of the influence of microseisms and other destabilizing factors.
