METHOD FOR SUBCLINICAL KETOSIS PREDICTION FOR COWS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N33/50

Abstract RU 2614718 C2

FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method for subclinical ketosis prediction for cows includes blood sample selection and glucose determination in blood. The blood glucose level for cows is determined during the transition period, no more than 1 time in 3 days, at that, a glucose meter with a test strip used. Prior each blood taking, the glucose meter is kept in the outer environment for max. 15 min, at t of 20-30°C. Then, a drop of blood with a diameter commensurate with the meter test strip is placed on the test strip, distributed along the test strip, and if the lower standard gloucose concentration value is not more than 2.2 mmol/l, ketosis development is predicted, which is the basis for urgent action.

EFFECT: method for quick and accurate prediction of the likelihood of subclinical ketosis.
