METHOD FOR PATIENTS REHABILITATION AFTER LUMBAR SPINE INJURIES AND LESIONS Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61N1/32 A61N1/18 A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2614890 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: for rehabilitation after spinal injury, cutaneous electrostimulation is performed synchronized with locomotor therapy. The active and indifferent electrode pairs are applied on skin on the affected side for monoparesis, or on both sides for paraparesis, perpendicular to the course of muscle fibers on the gluteus maximus, quadriceps, calf and back group of thigh muscles, at that, the active electrode is placed on the myogaster, and the indifferent electrode - distally from the active electrode location. During the first 3-4 sessions, unipolar square-wave electric current pulses with an amplitude of 60-65 mA, duration of 100-105 microseconds and repetition frequency of 40-45 Hz are applied to the electrodes, during subsequent sessions, the amplitude is gradually increased up to 100-120 mA and the duration - up to 110-120 microseconds. At that, mode of walking on the Locomat complex is set at a speed of 1.5 km/h with an initial unloading of the patient's body weight by 30%, followed by complete removal of unloading to the end of the course, and a directing effort at a pace from 80 Nm⋅ at the beginning of the course - to 60 Nm⋅ at the end of the course. Moreover, the session duration during treatment is increased from 20 to 30 minutes.

EFFECT: method allows to improve the efficiency of rehabilitation treatment for patients with sluggish lower mono- or paraparesis, to reduce recovery time, to improve functional outcome, to provide adequate support ability of the lower limbs, to optimize functional properties of the weakened muscles.
