FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method generates a set of samples of the rock under study, determines total porosity and density of each sample in atmospheric conditions, are excludes from further study the samples with different mineralogical composition, for the remaining samples the method determines velocity of propagation of longitudinal wave and total porosity in the samples in conditions simulating the reservoir conditions. Thereafter, the velocity of propagation of longitudinal waves in the mineral matrix is determined. Next, the value of fracture porosity is calculated for each sample by the formula: Kp fr = [(100 - 1.6 Kp total - 100(Vpr measured / Vpr velocity)] / 20.4, where Kp total - experimentally determined total porosity of a sample; Vpr measured - measured propagation velocity of elastic longitudinal wave in a sample; Vpr velocity - longitudinal wave propagation velocity in mineral matrix of the rock under study, and then the pore porosity is determined as the difference between the total porosity and fracture porosity.

EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of determination of fracture porosity.
