FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of determination of rock fracture porosity includes experimental determination of velocity (Vp) propagation of elastic longitudinal wave of each specimen under thermal baric conditions exceeding formation pressure by 10-15%, total porosity (TPtotal) for each sample under thermobaric conditions exceeding the formation by 10-15%. After this, a graph of dependence (Vp) is plotted as a result of which the rate (Vp.r.) of propagation of elastic longitudinal wave in mineral skeleton of test rock is determined graphically. Fracture porosity (Fp) is then calculated for each of rock samples under study by formula: Fp=[100-1.6*Fp.total -100 * (Vp/Vp.r.)]/20.4 (1). In case negative values of the calculated fracture porosity are obtained, the obtained largest negative value is set to zero and specified value of elastic longitudinal wave propagation velocity in mineral skeleton is determined (Vp.sk.v.) according to the formula: Vp.sk.v.=Vp/[1-(1.6*Fp.total/100] (2). After that value of fracture porosity (Fp) of each sample of examined rock is calculated again by the formula (1) using clarified value of elastic longitudinal wave propagation rate in the mineral skeleton (Vp.sk.v.) obtained by the formula (2).
EFFECT: increased accuracy of conducted investigations by determining the value of rock fracture porosity when investigating rock samples.
