SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and to the control of the towing line. The (1) control device in the towing line and the method of operation of the device are proposed, where the control device (1) of the towing line is located in the deck (4) of the vessel and contains at least two towing pins (6) adapted to move between a passive position and at least one active position, wherein the gap between the two towing pins (6) is overlaped with the bridge (12) at least when the towing pins (6) are in one of their active position, wherein the lower stop (18) which can move between a passive position and at least one active position is located between the two towing pins (6 ) , and the lower stop (18) is placed so that the lower stop (18) and the towing pins, on the whole, are located on the flat surface perpendicular to the main longitudinal axis of the towing line (24) that flows between them.
EFFECT: invention is to improve the operational characteristics of the control device in the towing line.
