FIELD: construction of underwater pipelines. SUBSTANCE: proposed pipe-laying vessel has tower extended upwards and defining route of pipeline at its laying, and lower guide device for directing pipeline after passing the tower. Lower guide device is furnished with groups of guide rollers spaced along pipeline route and limiting side bounds of route. Guide rollers are arranged for bending the pipeline at its passing through lower guide device. Vessel is furnished with means to control forces acting onto pipeline from side of rollers of lower guide device. Pipeline is lowered along unit of upwards extended tower of vessel, is passed through groups of spaced rollers of lower guide device by means of which side bounds of pipeline route are limited is bent at passing through lower guide device, and forces acting onto pipeline from side of rollers of lower guide device are checked.
