FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: titanium oxide is in the form of the uniform spherical particles with the size of 20 nm to 100 nm. Each particle contains mesopores with the uniform distribution of their sizes centered at the value of 2 nm to 12 nm. For particles of TiO2, an aqueous solution of a titanium compound is prepared at the concentration of 0.5 to 1.5 moles per liter in the presence of the alpha hydroxy carboxylic acid in a molar ratio of the acid to titanium of 0.02 to 0.2; the solution is heated to 70-80°C followed by the addition of the anatase seeds TiO2, and this temperature is maintained of 1-3 hours; then it is heated for 4.2 hours to the reflux temperature in the range of 100°C; the solution is cooled to the room temperature, and the reaction product is separated.
EFFECT: improved quality of titanium oxide due to the homogeneity of the particles and the narrow distribution of the pore size.
