FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical industry, in particular to a technology for producing a sorbent based on titanium dioxide nanoparticles, and can be used for sorption treatment of wastewater, industrial waste and extraction of rare metals. A method is presented for obtaining a sorbent based on nanosized titanium dioxide by preparing a solution of organotitanium compounds in a water-alcohol solvent through successive stages of sol formation, and then gel and separation of the resulting reaction product, characterized in that the preparation of the sol is carried out from titanium tetrabutoxide, ethyl alcohol and distilled water in a volume ratio of 1:1:4 at a pH of the initial solution from 4 to 8, further aging of the sol is carried out at a temperature of 25-60°C for no more than 30 minutes, subsequent drying at a temperature of 80°C for 45 minutes and annealing of the obtained amorphous titanium dioxide nanoparticles in air at a temperature of 200-1000°C for one hour.

EFFECT: invention provides a sol-gel method for producing a sorbent based on nanosized TiO2 and conditions for efficient sorption.
