FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: soil surface contaminated with Cs-137 is loosened to a depth of 0.03-0.07 m. Biofuel strip separated by spaces are imposed on the loosened surface. Pipes with drippers are laid in the middle of these strips. Biofuel strips are filled with loosened contaminated soil from the inter-strip space. Their surface is covered with a layer of sorbent material and a screen of membrane material. Mineral fertilizers solution with addition of aerobic microorganisms heated up to 30-40°C is fed via pipes through drippers. Thus, a process of biofuel microbial degradation with increasing temperature of more than +40°C is launched in the loosened contaminated soil to transfer radioactive cesium isotopes to the gaseous form with fixation by sorbent material. Membrane material screen is removed. Cleaning and deposition of sorbent material with Cs-137 is performed. The remaining biofuel is allocated on the field surface and put into the ground.
EFFECT: considerable reduction of time, increased efficiency and reliability of soil purification from Cs-137.
