FIELD: environmental protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, particularly to soil decontamination, and is intended for cleaning soil from caesium radionuclides. Method of cleaning soil contaminated with caesium ions involves placing a package of arbitrary shape made of a track membrane into the contaminated soil at a depth of not more than the depth of the fertile layer, the package has a cord, which enables to remove the package from the soil, filled by 80–90% of the volume with a granular sorbent with granule size in range of 0.1–10.0 mcm, wherein membrane pore size should be smaller than the minimum size of sorbent granules, it is kept for 30–90 days and removed from the soil.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of cleaning contaminated soils from caesium ions without changing the chemical and biochemical composition of the treated soils, id est without disturbing the structure of the fertile layer.
