FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: samarium and cobalt intermetallic compounds powder is obtained. Electrolysis of a molten salt, comprising an eutectic mixture of lithium and potassium chlorides, cobalt dichloride and samarium trichloride is performed in a three-electrode quartz cell containing a tungsten or molybdenum wire cathode, a silver reference electrode and an anode as a glassy carbon cylinder, at a temperature of 500-650°C and potential of minus 1700 mV to minus 1800 mV with respect to the silver reference electrode.
EFFECT: lower working electrolytic temperature and obtaining of samarium and cobalt intermetallic compound powder.
