FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: hemostatic susture application is started from the wound edge from the outer surface. An assembly is formed of two strands. A needle with a thread is inserted in the diaphragmatic surface, departing 1 cm from the wound edge, the needle is withdrawn on the median longitudinal axis of the liver stump wound. Then an insertion is made on the same line, stepping towards the suture direction. The needle is withdrawn on the diaphragmatic surface. A needle with another thread is similarly inserted and withdrawn from the visceral surface. A suture is formed as triangles with bases on the median longitudinal axis. Here a mutual ligature overlap is performed. Both ligatures are tied on the outer surface of the opposite wound edge. During liver resection, final intraoperative hemostasis of the liver is achieved. The wound surface of liver stump is covered with a vascularised portion of greater omentum.
EFFECT: method can provide reliable hemostasis due to suture geometry, simplified technique of its imposition.
