FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing an aggregate for concrete, comprising preparing the mass based on fusible clays capable to swell under conditions of heat treatment, its humidifyng to 20-26%, forming granules, drying the granules to the humidity of 1-6%, firing the granules at the temperature of 900-1,100°C, cooling the granules to the temperature of 20-50°C; for humidification a slurry is used, obtained by diluting 1-2 parts by weight of the fusible clay in 40-60 parts by weight of water, with the subsequent heating to the temperature of 60-80°C and pouring 1-2 parts by weight of molten petroleum asphalt/tar into it with constant stirring.

EFFECT: aggregate firing process intensification.
